I feel like Ruiner has some bastards. DNA in it. Not sure if that is true but it just strikes me as close in form and substance. This is not a bad thing IMHO.
Bastards and Ruiner do share some DNA! Both crib a bit from the ol' White Hack. I could be wrong, but I thiiiiink they were both also published in the same year? There was a bit of a thing going on with retroclones and hacks in 2021.
I guess I missed Ruiner was as old as it is! So that does about line up timeline wise and yeah I know White hack is a big influence for bastards. it is in my gaming too! Thanks for the reply! Also can we get a shout out to all the A6 games out there? Love the size for portability!
In fairness, there is a strong tendency in the industry to review newer titles. The fact that I did this interview and posted it now sort of encourages the thought that it is newer than it is. No shame in that, friend.
